Nordic Newbies

Due to lack of snow our start date has been delayed a week. Check Below for the new dates.

Program Coordinator: Sue Sedgwick

This friendly, supportive, non-competitive class is for those who are new to Nordic skiing or returning after a long absence.  You will start with the basics and progress at your own pace and comfort level.  During the first lesson you will be asked to sit on the snow with your skis on and be given strategies for getting up after a fall.  The minimum requirement for this program is that you can get yourself up off the snow on your own. Instructors will help you navigate the trails at Arrowhead so you can gain confidence to ski on your own and continue to improve your fitness.  Each session is Classic technique only. After this 4-week program you may want to further develop your skills in the Ski for Fitness, Classic Lessons that run in February. Please contact the program coordinator if you are thinking of purchasing new equipment and she can give you some suggestions.

If you are interested in learning how to Skate Ski, please look at the Beginner Skate Ski program. Each session is Classic technique only.  If you are interested in learning how to Skate ski, please have a look at the Ski for Fitness lessons.
